The 3D Physic engine ensures a smooth realism with a low consumption of resources. The engine manages two things: car's physic and collisions between car and cells (a cell can't collide with another cell and we have just one car). Car's physic derives from here, and we appropriately revised it to achieve a more realistic movement and to introduce the third dimension. On Internet you can find several car's physic (most of them for free!) with high complexity and high realism. We preferred to take this simple skeleton and then improve it by ourself.
One of the more interesting features is that each track's piece is physically independent from the others pieces and is configurable by an xml file.

The 3D Graphic engine offers high details without excessive loss of performance. All the textures are in high-resolution and all the objects in the real world are in 3D.
Another feature used to improve performances is a dynamic model for cars. Each car has three models (slow, medium and high resolution model). To draw a car, the engine uses the car's distance from the camera to chose the best model to use. For example, if the car is far from the camera it will use a model with few polygons; if the car is nearby the camera, it will use the higher one. Click here for an axample. .
